Young/Middle-Aged Group – New Weeknight Group!
Start date: October 1, 2024
Time: 1st and 3rd Tuesday Nights from 6:00pm – 7:30pm (with additional gatherings throughout the year)
Facilitator: Pastor Lonnie Pittman
Location: Central Youth Room
Length of class: Ongoing (with breaks during the holidays, etc.)
Cost: No Cost (although the group may go through a book that is optional for purchase)
Description: Pastor Lonnie will lead and facilitate this new group of young and middle-aged families and singles. While there is no “age requirement or limit”, this group is focused on the age group between late 20s to early 50s. If you have any questions, please email Pastor Lonnie at [email protected].

Bereen Group – New Sunday Morning Group!
Start date: September 22, 2024
Time: Sunday mornings from 10:45am – Noon
Facilitator: Eddie Voncannon
Location: FLC Conference Room
Length of class: Ongoing (with breaks during the holidays, etc.)

Description: Eddie Voncannon will lead and facilitate this new group that will meet after the Contemporary Worship Service on Sunday mornings. Thursday Night Disciples Group – New Weeknight Group!

Time: Thursday evenings from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Location: Reaves home (address will come with a phone or email connection after signing-up for the group)

“Man Up!” Breakfast Group – New Group!

Pastor Lonnie’s Morning Study – “The Epic of Eden: The Book of Psalms” by Sandra Richter – New Group!
Start date: October 2, 2024
Time: Every Wednesday morning from 10:00am – 11:30am for twelve weeks (beginning on October 2nd)
Facilitator: Pastor Lonnie Pittman
Location: FLC Conference Room
Length of class: Eight Weeks
Cost: $20 – This is for the physical copy of the book (that will have to be ordered before the study begins). Attendees can also order the study book on their own through digital or other formats. The $20 cost can be brought to the first class meeting.
Description: In this study, author/teacher Sandra Richter brings our ancestors in the faith to the table where we learn from them in a cross-cultural experience bridging historical and modern-day life. This eight-session study of the Book of Psalms masterfully mixes scholarly and practical teaching through the most-known wisdom Book of the Bible. Experience the Psalms with fresh connections to contemporary worship and devotional practices. Indulge in the biblical study of the Psalms from a scholar and former pastor. Letting Sandra do the “heavy lifting” of research and translation allows you to experience the Bible in a deeply sensitive way, answering the evergreen question, “so what does this have to do with me today?”

Women’s Bible Study – “The Overcomers: A Bible Study in the Book of Revelation”

Cost: Individuals are asked to purchase “The Overcomers” Bible Study Guide by Matt Chandler. Books can be found on amazon and digital formats.
Description: The Women’s Bible Study group invites all women to their new Fall Study “Overcomers” – based on author and pastor Matt Chandler’s study on the book of Revelation. Are you ready to live fully prepared and fully equipped to handle anything life throws at you? As Christians, we can be courageous and confident, knowing that God has placed us in human history for his purposes, and he will empower us regardless of our circumstances. In this eight-session series, pastor and author Matt Chandler will walk us through the book of Revelation to remind us of God’s fierce, conquering, commanding authority over all the earth. The Colors of Food – “Eat the colors food challenge” – New Group!

Grief Share

Description: GriefShare is a support group that is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way. Affinity Groups
GMC Women’s Ministry: Follower’s Circle (meet monthly) & Joy Circle (meet quarterly). Both groups serve God through time together in fellowship and serving in the church and the community. Good Times Ministry: Good Times is an adult ministry that is full of fun/fellowship events throughout the year. Good Times handouts (with details) are available in the church building as well as online. The dates for all upcoming events are: 9/10; 10/8; 10/22; 11/12; 12/4; 12/13. NEW! – Catalyst: Catalyst is a church-wide gathering for food and fellowship….and fun! Dinner will be served from 5:30pm to 6:15pm. Family friendly entertainment will begin at 6:15pm and conclude by 6:45pm. The dates for the Catalyst events are 9/24; 10/15; 11/19; 12/17.
